Meet the Director

Hi!  I am Barkev Trachian.  I have the privilege of serving as Director of the Graduate School. I was born in Syria of Armenian missionary parents, and was saved at the age of seven.

My educational preparation includes a B.A. in English from the American University of Beirut, an M.A.

in Christian Education and a Ph.D. in Church Administration from Bob Jones University.  I have also completed College Board Institutes at Harvard University and at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill.

It is a blessing to use my experience as Christian school principal, college registrar and academic dean, and seminary president to build and lead a vibrant graduate school for the glory of God.  Serving on the Tennessee Higher Education Commission (recently as the chair) and on the TRACS Accreditation Commission has given me further experience to represent our graduate school among governmental and professional agencies.

My wife Polly currently serves in the Financial Assistance Office.  She graduated from Bob Jones University with a B.S. in Home Economics Education and from Virginia Tech with an M.S. in Clothing, Textiles, and Related Art.  Her competence and godly life are great assets to my ministry.

We are grateful for what God has already accomplished through Piedmont and are excited about the new Ph.D. and Chaplaincy programs. The curriculum is set and most of the faculty are in place.  If God has called you to pursue advanced training, Piedmont Baptist Graduate School is the

key.  We want to produce leaders who have superior skills in research and communication, accurate knowledge of the Word of God, and a burning passion to impact the world for Christ. If you have not completed a graduate degree, this would be the time to start.

Please contact our Admissions Office at 1-800-937-5097 or at admissions@ pbc.edu for further information.  To reach the Graduate School office, please contact Dr. Larry Tyler at 1-800-937-5097 ext. 7989, or at tylerl@pbc.edu.  We look forward to hearing from you.
