Dr. Larry Tyler
Professor of New Testament / Dean
Dr. Larry Tyler was employed twenty-five years at the Medical College of Georgia before taking an early retirement in March 2000. Shortly afterwards Dr. Tyler and his family moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina to enroll at Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary (SEBTS) on a full time basis. He previously had already attended SEBTS for six years on a part-time basis. In May 2001 Dr. Tyler received a M.Div. degree from SEBTS. After his acceptance into the Ph.D. program at SEBTS, he attended for five more years. He received his Ph.D. degree in May 2006. In August 2006 Dr. Tyler was hired as a full-time faculty member at Piedmont International University teaching New Testament and Greek.
Dr. Tyler has been married to his wife, Sandy, for almost twenty-seven years (April 17, 1982). They have five children, four boys and one girl. Dr. Tyler and his family live in High Point, North Carolina and are members of Edgefield Baptist Church in Greensboro, North Carolina.
